The influence on the development of children's creativity

In our modern society, no one can deny that televisions play an essential role in their life. However, in Britain some families refuse to own a television in their house for they believe it has negative influences on the development of their children's creativity. To some extent, I disagree with their opinion just because of what television can benefit our kids.
Looking at the positive aspect, we can obviously see that television can be a great entertaining and educational tool for children. Cartoons and some other advertising programs, for example, seem to be the most favorite and funny ones that can make every kid relax and entertain. Watching television can also open new worlds for young children so that they can have chance to learn new things and gain ideas they may not encounter in their real society.
Beside good impacts, we should admit that television also has some negative influences on our kids. They will be mentally tired if they pay attention too much to the programs on TV. In addition, apparently watching television takes away children's time from engaging in real life. In other words, kids will lack of doing physical activities and interacting with other people. What's more, children may be affected by bad behaviors of some characters appearing in some inappropriate programs on TV as they love to imitate what they observe in everyday life.
To conclude, televisions have both positive and negative impacts on our children. It is necessary for parents to be aware of its advantages and disadvantages so that we can exploit the good and avoid the bad sides.
